Are you confident in Christ?

I know, it sounds either cliché or extremely difficult to comprehend. Believe me, I’ve been there more times than I can count.

If any of these options sound like you, put a finger down.

A) felt very productive and good one day, but when you are resting or not doing much you call yourself lazy and feel unworthy

B)You receive compliments and feel unworthy to receive them (whole other conversation lol), but then feel rejected when others don’t see the progress you’ve made

C) last but not least, when you make mistakes your whole world starts crumbling down because of all the things you are saying to yourself in your mind.

First of all…. take a deep breath with me. Breathe in………hold…… breathe out

Now, how many fingers did you put down?

It makes you wonder: Was my confidence ever really solid?

Or was it resting on something/someone who is forever evolving?

2. Personal Reflection

I’ve had seasons where my confidence depended on outcomes. If I succeeded, I was happy. If I failed, I questioned everything — my calling, my abilities, even my worth.

I’ve learned how easy it is to build confidence in unstable things: approval from people, performance, appearance, talent, productivity. And when any of those change, my confidence is shaken like an earthquake, and there are a million voices in my head.

But I’ve also experienced stillness. There were moments when nothing around me felt certain — doors closed, plans fell apart, and I didn’t feel “qualified.”

But there He was.

The sustainer, doing as He said He would, sustaining me.

Confidence: The feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something

I overcame not because my belief in myself grew, but because I believed in Christ more.

That was the difference.

Confidence in myself rises and falls. Humans tend to do that.

Confidence in Christ remains. It’s a disciplined act of obedience.

3. Encouragement / Wisdom

If you’re walking through doubt right now — whether it’s doubt in your abilities, your future, or your worth — I want to gently remind you of the story in Mark 4. Jesus was on a lake with many other men crossing over to the other side. When the evening came, there was a great storm yet, and Jesus was asleep. The men woke him up in panic and said, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And Jesus woke up, rebuked the wind, and responded, “Peace be still.” The storms of the seas perished.

Now, I ask you what Jesus asked those men…

“Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”[41]

Your confidence was never meant to rest on you alone.

Confidence in Christ doesn’t mean you’ll never feel insecure. It means insecurity doesn’t get the final word.

When your confidence is in Christ:

  • Failures are the crashing waves that Jesus commanded to be still.
  • Stillness is preparation, not punishment.
  • Weaknesses are more ways to depend on him for His strength.

You don’t have to perform for worthiness. You were already worthy from the womb. You don’t have to be perfect to be used by God.

Your gifts? From Him.

Your growth? Guided by Him.

Your purpose? Anchored in Him.

The world says, “Believe in yourself.”

Faith/confidence says, “Believe in Him.”

That kind of confidence doesn’t crumble when circumstances do.

And that changes everything.
