He Is More Than Enough

I have to admit something: there are times when I did not believe God was going to come through for me. I know, I know, Gasp all you want. In reality, this is a VERY common battle with many Christians. From what I’ve learned, here’s why:

  • We don’t know/ haven’t gone that far to read about it in the Word of God
  • There are physical(which are actually spiritual) barriers blocking the viewing of God in his fullness and glory (Proverbs 20-25)
  • There are physical(which are actually spiritual) barriers blocking the viewing of God in his fullness and glory (Proverbs 20-25)
  • Our mind is not strengthened enough with pathways that speak the word over our doubts (Philippians 4:7-8)
  • We don’t bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10)

All in all, if any of these resonated with you….

We have to actively use our sharpest and deadliest weapon against the enemy’s attacks. We know the saying “The mind is the devil’s playground,” right? It REALLY is, BUT, more importantly, it’s also God’s empire! What differentiates our lives is what we allow to rule our thoughts and actions. Our brains have to be filled with the Word of God to the point where we can recite scripture over all our thoughts. The more we know what God says, the more we can identify what the enemy wants to deceive us with.

As I said, there are various times in my life when I simply don’t believe all of God’s promises. I sit back and pray for clarification on the strongholds that could be withholding all of God’s blessings in my life. The best way to remind ourselves of His provision and promises is to constantly be thinking about what He has brought us through. I’ll give an example. In December 2025, my beautiful 2007 Dodge Nitro was coming to the end of its life. I remember feeling so much anxiety and worry about how I was going to do the regular things in my life. I go to work, choir, meet up with friends, provide carpooling to those who need it, etc. I was focusing my eyes and attention on what would be lacking versus God’s promises. In Hebrews 10:22-23 KJV it says, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;).” If I had rehearsed what was in the back of my mind and what I knew about God from what He had done in the past, the outcome would have been FAITH and not fear. Peace and not worry. Perseverance and not stagnation. To cue to the end of the story, God allowed and provided the finances for my family to be able to pay for my new car at the end of December 2025! Now, I look back and rehearse situations like these where God’s promises are fulfilled. We have to remember God is talking through us from a place of Victory, He’s speaking as the author AND finisher of our faith! (Hebrews 12:2).

I encourage you, brothers and sisters, that God’s grace is sufficient for us! He will always finish what He started. So cling to what He says in His word and imprint that in your mind.  reciting back scripture to our brains equips us to do the work that He allows and has blessed us with the honor of doing on earth. He has instilled in all of us our own gifts and purpose, He wants you to fulfill your purpose. That shows that we are not just hearers of His word, but also doers! (James 1:22).

So the next time life tries to beat us down, think of all the scriptures that I’ve referenced above.  Discern your thoughts through the fruits of the Bible, and say them back to Him. Here are a few affirmations:

1. I live in the peace that you speak of in Philippians 4:7 and trust that you will keep my mind and heart forever and always

2. The Lord rebuke any spiritual barriers that are causing my eyes to not see your goodness and glory in my life in the name of Jesus

3. I am constantly speaking your word in my life, Lord

4. I decree and declare every thought captive under the obedience of Christ.
