Meet Dallas Watson, a senior at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was born in February 2004. Dallas has been in the choir since 2023. She currently majors in Geography and has an American studies minor. Her dream is to help solve racial inequalities in the U.S. She strives to tackle the race place and space of Black communities. She joined Known MPLS to be involved in a Black space, and to be with youth her age. Her experience in Known has been transformative, as she has connected wonderfully with the community.

Known MPLS is a space for young black youth to walk into their faith with God. Coming from a college that is a predominantly white university, Known MPLS has given me a space to be my authentic self and develop more into my god given self. Many times there are not youth spaces for people to talk about their relationship with God and Known has been that space for me. Learning about other people’s testimonies and learning music that has touched my heart has carried me through hard times at school. Known is not just about singing it’s about creating space where black youth can show up authentically and thrive. This space is truly touched by God.
