My name is Camaja Byrd. I am 26 years old, I was born May 18th 99’ in Minneapolis Minnesota. I’m a mother of a one year old girl. I work for the MPS public school district as a Special Education Assistant. I am also currently in school to receive my bachelors for special education in elementary school setting & I minor in ASL (American Sign Language 🤟🏽). I own a small business making customized product which I do in my free time.
Known MPLS has helped me face the ugliest parts of myself and become the woman I’m meant to be. It taught me to show up in excellence, no matter what I was going through, and in doing so, I found healing and strength. The love and support from the choir—especially during my pregnancy—has been overwhelming and genuine. Known MPLS has become my family, a safe place to cry, laugh, grow, and be reminded of God’s purpose for my life. Through it all, I’ve learned what it means to serve, create, and lead with grace and faith.
