Let It Go, Like The Leaves 

As you may have noticed, it’s been getting chilly outside, the leaves have been falling, and a lot of the transition back from vacay mode has happened. What’s funny is that no matter how much we know this change happens, we sometimes are shocked when it’s here. For example: you worked overtime in your job and you’re looking forward to this paycheck. The thing is, it always lands on the day you have to pay rent. You intentionally did that so that you can budget properly to take care of what’s necessary before what’s wants in your life. Now let’s see that play out spiritually.

Let’s say you’ve been diving deep into your word very frequently, you feel healthy physically, you have good friends, etc in this season. You have a heart full of gratitude for how he’s blessing you in your faithfulness. Fast forward to next week you receive some devastating news, you have an argument with your friend, and you’ve been feeling pretty sick. Now the question is: is God still faithful? The answer is YES HE IS. The first thing you have to do is go to God with your prayers and petitions. He listens to all prayers (1 John 5:14), you also have to seek him to see if this is a test or if this is warfare. In both, you will be tested (as his word says in 1 John 16:33), but there’s a difference between what he sends vs what he allows. The Lord doesn’t promise an easy life nor should we crave one. If we desire to be like Jesus, then why would we not go through what he went through? He was persecuted, beaten, criticized, dishonored, discriminated against, and mocked by his OWN people. What he DOES promise is that he will never leave us nor forsake us. In Luke 9:23 it talks about how following him comes with picking up our cross daily, it’s how we learn and are revealed Jesus’s love on a deeper level. Our prayers will be met with better outcomes than we knew how to pray for.

So brothers and sisters take this as an encouragement for this season. Although everything around us seems to be changing drastically, the one who calls the storms is holding our hand through it. Keep your eyes on the Prince of Peace. If you stay in remembrance of how he got you out of the last difficult situation, you will have a much better time being faithful as if it were second nature.

Whether it’s grief, depression, anxiousness, instability around us, etc. God sent His begotten Son to be in the flesh so that his people may turn from their wicked ways and trust in His true character. The circumstances may change but God never does.

God is in every season, let him reveal that to you in the winter, spring, fall, or summer!
